What’s on - Events & Monthly Meet Ups
Thursdays 6-8pm, 24 July - 28 August 2025
Always wanted to learn how to knit but never been sure where to begin? Join craft tutor Stella Carruthers as she teaches the basic principles of knitting in this fun, informative and supportive class. In this workshop you will gain the essential building blocks of knitting using only knitting needles, your hands, and an open mind.

This class is cared for by the whimsical Aisha, a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for empowering the mending process. Each month on Wednesday evenings Aisha will introduce us to a different technique for reviving our beloved textile pieces. If you're like us and have a box of clothing in need of repairs that never seems to empty... this is the club for you. With three events a month we'll inspire each other to creatively care for those pieces we love!
Te Motu Kairangi warmly extends an invitation for you to experience the joy of learning and refreshing your knowledge of flax weaving.
No prior experience or tools are necessary; we welcome participants of all skill levels.

This meet up will focus on all your seeds and left over potting trays, potting mix or other bits in preparation for the spring planting season!
Join us for Craft Club this May!
Bring your project for the monthly meet up for crafts of all kinds.
1st Sunday of the month, 10:30am - 12:30pm downstairs at the Hataitai Bowling Club.
If you can, bring a small koha to keep our spaces and community programs going.
We will have a sewing machine available, but we would love to see all kinds of projects!

Groups and Activities in our Community
The Hataitai Fruit & Vege Co-op provides local, fresh, seasonal produce every week at a low price across the Wellington region through Hauora Kai. Hauora Kai is organised by Regional Public Health and Wesley Community Action. the Hataitai Fruit and Veg Co-Op is open to communities across Wellington, but there are collection centre’s all over the city.
